  • What does a hair follicle test measure?
A hair follicle test measures the DNA frequency in the individual hair follicle. A hair follicle test provides a look at what has been happening in your body for the last 90 days offering insights that blood or urine tests may not reveal.
  • How does hair follicle testing compare to blood tests?
Blood tests show a snapshot of what’s happening in your body at a specific moment, while hair testing reflects long-term patterns of mineral levels and toxin exposure. Both tests offer different insights.
  • Does a hair follicle test hurt?
Since the hair follicle contains the DNA we need for testing, we use tweezers to gently extract 4–5 strands from the back of the head. While you may feel a quick pinch, it’s very mild and passes almost instantly. In fact, we regularly perform hair follicle testing on children, and they handle it with no trouble at all.
  • How long does it take to get results?
After collecting your hair sample, it typically takes about 15 minutes for the results to be sent to your email. Once we receive the 34-page report, we’ll review it together, identify any deficiencies, and create a personalized wellness protocol tailored to your needs.
  • Can dyed or treated hair still be tested?
Yes, dyed or chemically treated hair can still be tested. However, we ask that you wait at least 48 hours after your hair has been dyed or chemically treated to come in for a hair follicle test to allow some hair growth.
  • Can children have a hair follicle test done?
Yes, absolutely! Hair follicle testing is safe, non-invasive, and suitable for children of all ages.
  • Is the testing different for children or teenagers?
The process is the same for children and teenagers as it is for adults. However, for children that have not yet hit puberty, a quick saliva sample will be needed in addition to the hair follicle.
  • What if I'm bald? What hair do you use?
If you don’t have hair on the top of your head, no worries—we can simply collect a few eyebrow hairs for the sample. This method works just as effectively, and we regularly perform testing for our bald clients.
  • How long will the appointment take?
When you first arrive, we will collect the hair follicle sample. It takes about 15 minutes for the data to be read and analyzed. Once we have the report (sent to your email), we will discuss the results and put together an action plan on how to get those missing nutrients back into your body or how to detox if necessary. This process can take up to 1 hour making the total appointment between 1-2 hours in length. We spend the time to get to the root cause of your health issues and instead of quick turnovers that may experience in typical Doctor offices.
  • What types of treatments will you recommend?
Based on your hair analysis results, we provide personalized recommendations tailored to your unique needs. These may include: Nutritional support: Specific vitamins, minerals, and dietary adjustments to address deficiencies or imbalances. Detox protocols: Targeted detox plans to reduce toxic metal accumulation which could include hyperbaric oxygen chambers, cryotherapy, etc. Lifestyle modifications: Stress management techniques, sleep improvements, and hydration tips. Supplement suggestions: Natural supplements to support overall wellness, hormone balance, or cellular health. Our goal is to create a customized wellness plan based on natural health methods to support long-term health and vitality.
